During summer 2018, while finalizing my Master Scuba Diving specialties at Dive2gethercenter in Crete, I volunteered with Mare-Mund, an Austrian non-profit organization which is dedicated to the Mediterranean Sea. Led by Professor Robert Hofrichter, Mare Mundi has as its main goal to protect the Mediterranean for future generations, through its three pillars: Research, Education and Protection.

At the marine protected area run by the Mare-Mundi Field Station in Crete, I had the possibility of doing research on the field, regarding scientific data collection of Mediterranean organisms living in sandy bottom. My work was aslo to analyse our own small samples under the stereomicroscope. That work was a great opportunity for me to contribute to the defense of the hidden life of the Mediterranean sea and learn how the sandy beaches have been formed. To volunteer and contribute to the protection of the Mediterranean Sea and take part in research dives,
