Our research work aims at collecting and transferring local scientific and data findings, along with the traditional knowledge of local cultures, to the global community of ocean experts.

Y4Blue allows people that want a part of science to get involved. We teach young people that data collection is an important tool to be in the driver’s seat and in taking charge about what’s going on with your local resources. Our vision is to recruit around the world young volunteers to do work on the beach and recreational divers for underwater research.

We want to give young coastal citizens the chance to go out and collect information, study patterns, and find out when things are right and when things are going wrong with the marine environment. That young people figure out that they can collect the information and allow scientists to put it together in a larger pattern so they can also see if this is local, a unique thing, or if this is a broad, regional or global pattern.
